Allentown Works
Allentown Works is a 5-year workforce initiative designed to help unemployed and underemployed Allentown residents reconnect with meaningful career opportunities. Through partnerships between the City of Allentown, the Allentown Economic Development Corporation (AEDC), local employers, nonprofits, educational institutions, and community organizations, the program connects residents to the support, resources, and opportunities needed to successfully enter or re-enter the workforce.
Participants can receive personalized career guidance, workforce support services, connections to employment opportunities, and assistance navigating career pathways that align with their goals and long-term stability. Allentown Works is committed to helping residents build confidence, overcome barriers to employment, and access opportunities that lead to sustainable careers and economic growth.
Our Goal: Connect 650+ residents to employment by 2030 for a 60% reduction in PAEG
Through collaboration with employers, service organizations, and community partners, The Century Promise helps support the overall employment pipeline by addressing barriers to workforce engagement, improving access to career pathways, and helping residents successfully navigate the workforce system.
