The Century Promise:
An Evidence-Based Pathway to Postsecondary and Workforce Success
The Century Promise (TCP) is an evidence-aligned pre-apprenticeship and workforce readiness initiative that connects underserved Lehigh Valley high school juniors and seniors to high-opportunity career pathways. By equipping students with the skills, credentials, and relationships they need to succeed in today’s economy, TCP helps them avoid the years of uncertainty and underemployment that often derail young people from disadvantaged backgrounds.
This early momentum matters: research shows that young adults who miss key postsecondary or career milestones by their mid-20s often face long-term earnings gaps and stalled upward mobility. By contrast, TCP positions students to meet those early markers—helping to disrupt generational patterns of economic disadvantage and creating a new foundation for long-term success.
Our Model
We walk alongside students every step of the way—from high school to college or the workforce, and throughout their critical “13th year.” By offering sustained mentorship and support, we ensure each student has the foundation to succeed long-term. Our graduates are entering the workforce better prepared, better connected, and better equipped to build lives of stability and purpose—helping to end cycles of poverty in a single generation
